Design & Direction


Rasmus Wangelin is Global Head of Design at Spotify where he oversees all brand and marketing design-work globally. His ambition is to inspire & direct impactful and engaging design while giving designers a platform to create career defining-work.

His work has been recognized by numerous design awards and publications including the Cannes Lions, D&AD, Webbys, AIGA, The One Show, The FWA, Creative Review, Communication Arts, among others.
Prior to his role at Spotify, Rasmus worked as a design-director / group lead at R/GA where he oversaw the design-work for Nike-Brand while also contributing to other work-streams and clients such as Google, Youtube, Samsung and various new business initiatives.

Originally from Sweden, Rasmus graduated from Hyper-Island in 2007 and has since then worked with a multitude of clients and agencies across branding, art direction, web-design and animation.

Over the later part of Rasmus career he’s worked with a number of selected clients to help advise on brand & design challenges. The challenges have been ranging from light touch advising to full scale rebrands in collaboration with the internal design teams or external design-studios.
Rasmus also spends his time speaking (conferences & podcasts) and teaching (design & branding). Some of his recent involvements have been; Speaking at Digital Design Days Milano, Teaching at Columbia University & Juror for the One Show design category.
